Which Ten Make Up Mindanao's List of Most Aspired Companies?

mindanao (2) As with the national results, San Miguel Corporation and Nestlé Philippines topped the list of top companies jobseekers in Mindanao aspire to work for this year, with another multinational in the fast moving consumer goods industry, Coca-Cola FEMSA, completing the top three.

Two banks follow each other in the list with BDO Unibank coming in at 4th and Metropolitan Bank and Trust Company taking the fifth spot. Another financial institution, Bank of the Philippine Islands, is 7th out of 10.

Henry Sy-led SM Investments Corporation is the sixth company Mindanaoans want to work with. Completing the list are three conglomerates with large operations in Mindanao - the Aboitiz Group, which is a major stakeholder in the region's energy sector; LafargeHolcim, the company's largest cement company with extensive plants scattered in Mindanao; and Del Monte Philippines, which has plantations and facilities in both Northern and Southern Mindanao.

More on the companies jobseekers admire

Like the national results, salary is the primary consideration for Mindanao's jobseekers on why they want to be part of their dream companies. Training and development opportunities for career enhancement comes second, followed by superior perks and benefits.

As to where they get their information on these companies, name recall through news, social media, and online articles is on top at 59%, followed by word of mouth at 54%. Meanwhile, 41% claim that they came to know that these companies possess admirable characteristics through job and company websites.

Dissecting the Mindanao Results

A total of 1,275 JobStreet.com accountholders participated in the survey from across the region, representing various specializations and position levels.

Accounting and finance was the most represented specialization in the survey at 21%; Sales at 11%; administrative specialists comprised 10% of the respondents, marketing and customer service specialists had 7 and 6 percent respectively.

Junior executives comprised the largest block of respondents according to position level at 35%. Fresh graduates made up 33%, while those the supervisory positions composed 23% of the total respondents. Nine percent of the respondents belong to the managerial level.
