CDO-Foodsphere's 34 years of growth is attributed to the creativity of Corazon Dayro Ong. The company's growth began from her simple dream of filling family tables with good, nutritious food fit for the Filipino palate. Driven by her homegrown dream, single-minded determination, excellent skills in the culinary arts and nutritional sciences, and a natural attachment to satisfy the Filipino's insatiable hunger for good food, Mrs. Ong's efforts inspire her people to expand her original dream.
Backed by a rich heritage of development and growth, the company has evolved into a full-grown company. The result in three decades is a happy and potent workforce that is the backbone of its energy and spirit, bolstering production and securing the future of their careers and families as well. Employees emulate Mrs. Ong's charismatic leadership. She is pragmatic, homey, caring and creative. She also possesses courage and an entrepreneurial spirit that have earned her such awards as the Most Outstanding Professional in 1999 in the Field of Dietetics given by the Professional Regulations Commission, Agora Awardee in 1997 for the Most Outstanding Medium-Scale Entrepreneur by the Philippine Marketing Association, the Most Outstanding Dietitian Award in 1996 by the Nutritionists-Dietitians Association of the Philippines, as well as most recent Woman Enterpreneur of the Year in 2009 by the Ernst and Young.
"Do it the CDO way" is the byword that she inspires in her employees. She also imparts to her people the significant value there is in "knowing your business customers well, even their birth dates". The company's personnel are honed to look upon its trade partners as cherished customers who are part of the CDO-Foodsphere family. The company also conducts skill training and value enhancement programs among its personnel to ensure that the organization is composed of highly dedicated and well-motivated people. In addition, Star Quality Awards and Sales Awards are accorded annually to deserving employees who illuminate Mrs. Ong's leadership by example to their co-peers, customers and trade partners. A reward system is also part of the organization. The relationship between CDO-Foodsphere and its employees is further enhanced through bonding activities like annual company outings, sports fests, Christmas parties, anniversary celebrations, among others. The health and fitness of every employee is also the priority of the company with free annual physical examination, free dental check-up and minor services, free drug test, weight loss programs, free medicines and many others.
