Nickel Asia Corporation (NAC) is a publicly-listed company and is the Philippine’s largest producer of lateritic nickel ore and one of the largest in the world. NAC’s principal business involves selling nickel ore to customers from China and Japan.
NAC was established in 2006 to consolidate under a single holding company the ownership of several mining companies in the Philippine.
Currently, NAC operates four different mining companies namely: Cagdianao Mining Corporation, Hinatuan Mining Corporation, Rio Tuba Nickel Mining Corporation and Taganito Mining Corporation. Apart from these, NAC has properties in various stages of exploration for Nickel and also for Gold and Copper. NAC likewise controls a 6% equity interest in the Coral Bay HPAL facility at Rio Tuba and in 2010, NAC invested P4.4 billion for a 22.5% equity interest in the country’s second hydrometallurgical nickel processing plant under the Taganito HPAL Nickel Corporation.
