Crew Operations Operators (Tankers)
National Capital Reg - Pasay City

Responsibilities:

Crew Operator is responsible and accountable to deliver Crew Request requirements to the complete and full satisfaction of Maersk-Filipinas Crewing Inc., clients.
 
To fulfill this role, Crew Operator shall:
  1. Know and understand the Crew Request requirements of Maersk-Filipinas Crewing, Inc. clients with reference to its Crew Selection Criteria and Certificates/Documents Matrices.
  2. Plan, organize, and monitor activities related to Crew Request requirements of the Maersk-Filipinas Crewing, Inc. clients with reference to the E2E Crewing Business Process Guide.  Plan crew changes and coordinate with concern parties for its effective implementation.
  3. Ensure that all Crew Request requirements are delivered on time and only suitable crew holding complete, valid and original documents are embarked in compliance with the standards set forth by MFCI, its clients, as well as by the national and international statutory and mandatory rules and regulations governing the employment of crew to board ships under International Flags.
  4. Promptly ensure compliance with agreed Service Level Agreements, SOPs and KPIs.
  5. Maintain and uphold the Maersk Core Values.
  6. Initiate and contribute to continual improvement plans of MFCI internal business processes to be able to deliver quality services, thereby achieving Customer Satisfaction, at all times.
Interrelations:
  • Directly report to the Crew Operations Manager and/or Senior Crew Operator.
  • Consistent and constant communication with clients on routine crewing related matters.
  • Crew Support for documentation of crew (ie. Flag State, Visas, Proarc).
  • Coordinate with MFCI Accounting for Administrative and other matters, financial in nature.
 
 
Alternate/Back-up:
  • In the absence of the Crew Operator, alternate is the counterpart Crew Operator and or Senior Crew Operator.
 
 Main Responsibilities:
  1. To equip oneself and should have sufficient knowledge and understanding on the various Crewing requirements listed in the E2E Crew Operator Training Matrix.
  2. To understand and deliver the requirements on the various business process phases (ie.  Crew Request, Recruitment, Documentation, Embarkation, Disembarkation, Crew Planning) as elaborated in the E2E Business Process Guide.
  3. Maintenance and management of crew on assigned pool and ships.
  4. Promptly deliver requirements and expectations (listed in the E2E Business Process Guide) of its clients as well as MFCI internal business partners.
 
 Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Refer to E2E Crewing Business Process Guide for more details.
 Authorities:
  • Prepare (as applicable) and review the following official documents in relation to Crewing operations prior to signing:
  • Documentation letters intended for Embassies, Flag State Officers, Training Centers, Government Offices (ie. PRC, MTC, TESDA, etc)
  • POEA Seafarer’s Info Sheet, Contract and Addendum
  • Letters required during dispatch such as Letter of Guarantee
  • Financial request or entitlement of joining crew prior to payment by MFCI Accounting.

  • Education – completed Bachelor of Science Degree
  • Experience – at least two (2) years experience in a manning office
  • Fair understanding of the seafarers documentation requirements and licenses
  • Understanding of the seafarers employment contract provisions and POEA processes
  • Computer literate (MS Office) or word processing, and other applications
  • Good organizational, communication and presentational skills.
  • Very familiar with Crew Manning operations.
  • Has the ability to organize, plan and manage work assignments
  • Pro-active, result-oriented, with proper time-management
  • Can work under pressure with minimal supervision
  • Team player
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate with all people at all levels in the organization
  •  Fluent in English (both written and speech)
