The Filipino Channel (TFC), the first Filipino channel available abroad, continues to warm the hearts of overseas Filipinos through choice in-home entertainment and Philippine local news. Through TFC, ABS-CBN reaches more than 1.7 million viewers in 60 countries through cable, satellite/direct-to-home, Internet Protocol TeleVision (IPTV) and the Internet through TFC Now!
In the movie-making front, ABS-CBN’s movie production arm, Star Cinema, single-handedly revived the fledgling local movie industry with one blockbuster hit after another, often posting more than Php100 million in gross receipts – the local movie industry’s unofficial mark for blockbuster status. In fact, Star Cinema produced the first movie in Philippine cinema history to break the Php200 million gross receipts mark.
Star Records, ABS-CBN’s recording outfit for music, TV and movies, maintained its status as a major player in the industry, consistently besting other local outfits in garnering the most number of albums reaching Gold or Platinum sales status.
