Open or Hidden Resume: What's The Difference and How Do I Benefit From Each?

When you upload your online resume in JobStreet.com, you will have the option to manage the privacy settings of your resume. There are three choices: searchable with contact details, searchable with hidden contact details, and hidden. There's no right or wrong privacy setting for your resume, you just need to find which one fits you best.

1. Open Resume

In a nutshell: Companies who use JobStreet.com products can view your entire resume, including your name and contact details.

Benefits: Companies looking for someone like you (your position level, specialization, industry, and the likes) will see your resume. They can contact you directly for an interview. Go for this option if you're actively looking for a job or you are open to exploring new career opportunities.

2. Confidential Resume

In a nutshell: Your resume is viewable, but your name and contact details are hidden.

Benefits: Your contact information is kept private. Should an employer wish to see your resume, you will receive a request from JobStreet.com to apply for the position so that your full resume will be made available to the employer. Go for this option if you are not actively looking for a job but do not want to miss career opportunities either.

3. Hidden Resume

In a nutshell: A hidden resume is exactly that "“ hidden. Companies will not see your resume at all, but you will continue to receive LiNa job alerts in your e-mail. You can still apply to jobs anytime you see a job that you like.

Benefits: Set your resume to "Not Searchable" if you do not have plans to entertain potential employers in the near future.
