What's it like to be an Administration Officer?
Administration Officers provide administrative support in an organization. They usually have more experience than Administration Clerks, Assistants, or Receptionists, and are usually in charge of bigger tasks, such as the company budget, office supplies, and confidential records. Their tasks are usually broader ones that support the company as a whole, rather than smaller departments.
Tasks and duties
- Managing office budgets and preparing financial reports.
- Recording and organizing company and employee data.
- Setting the company calendar and all necessary activities.
- Updating inventory, data, and office policies, making recommendations when needed.
- Presenting reports to management.
- Maintaining correspondence between key internal and external persons in a job function.
- Assisting with clerical tasks when needed.
How to become an Administration Officer
Administration Officers usually have experience working as an Administration Clerk or Receptionist. They will have gained enough knowledge and experience in a company in order to take charge of bigger administrative tasks.
- 1.Consider completing a bachelor degree in any related field, such as business administration, accounting or human resources.
- 2.Complete an internship in an office to gain experience. Prior work history is helpful in securing a job.
- 3.Master common office software such as Google Suite and Microsoft, and gain experience using office equipment such as photocopy and scanner machines. Excellent communication skills may also be beneficial.
- 4.Gain experience as an Administration Clerk in a company and be familiar with its daily operations.

If you're looking for a job with security of tenure, then Government Service is for you but make sure that you have a plantilla position to really call it stable. Pay is good and work is routinary.

There are some toxic colleagues and some officemates doesn't really give the work equivalent to their pay

The good things
Working in a government provides long-term security. The benefits are also good. It is also fulfilling in a sense that I am part of serving the Filipino people.
The challenges
There are times that I overworked myself because of deadlines but do not receive any recognition for my hard work. Only those who are in the higher positions get credits for the output of my work.
