What's it like to be a Designer?
Designers combine creativity with technical skills to visually communicate messages and ideas. They often work in fields such as graphic design, product design or fashion design, creating pieces that serve functional and aesthetic purposes. A Designer’s tasks generally include concept development, sketching or computer-aided design and final production. Designers may work closely with clients to ensure their design meets the desired intent and may often manage projects from start to finish. They often work in industries such as advertising, manufacturing or retail, and are part of a larger creative team or may operate as independent freelance professionals.
Tasks and duties
- Meeting with clients or employers to understand design goals and needs.
- Developing concepts and designing materials such as logos, advertising campaigns, websites, and other visual media.
- Creating presentations and drafts based on client feedback and specifications.
- Working with software and applications to enhance design projects.
- Collaborating with other team members such as copywriters, photographers, and printers to complete projects.
- Staying updated on the latest design trends, software tools, and applications.
- Presenting final design work to clients or managers and making necessary revisions based on their feedback.
