How to become a Writer
There are many pathways to becoming a Writer, depending on the type of writing you’re interested in. Formal qualifications or training are not essential, but they can help you prepare for this career.
- Earn a high school degree. A high school degree or equivalent is the minimum educational requirement to qualify for many writing jobs.
- Select a professional path. Before embarking on an academic or career choice, you should decide on what field of writing you want to pursue.
- Consider enrolling in a writing program. You could complete a relevant degree in writing or communication at university.
- Depending on your field, you could also complete an internship. Internships will provide you with experience and the chance to apply your skills to real-world projects.
- Although not a requirement, you can pursue a masters degree in creative writing or a related field.
