How to become a Nurse

- Take the STEM strand (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) during your last two years of high school to get an introduction to future study areas.
- Complete a nursing program, such as a bachelor of science in nursing. These programs typically last for three to four years. During this time, you will learn about nursing skills, health promotion, disease prevention, risk reduction, patient care, and other components that are essential for healthcare.
- After graduating, take the nurse licensure examination to become a Registered Nurse. You can also apply for global nursing programs since international recognition can further boost your prospects of employment and your opportunity to earn a higher salary.
- A Registered Nurse in the Philippines can look for employment in public and private healthcare facilities. You can also opt to be an independent nurse and open your own clinic.
