Nutritionists use their expertise to help people become healthier through better nutrition. They recommend adjustments in food intake, plan menus, and educate clients on the nutritional benefits of food and exercise.
Tasks and duties
- Assessing client dietary practices and physical needs.

- Documenting the process.
Nutritionists work in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, schools, clinics and nursing homes. In food service companies, Nutritionists oversee the development, preparation, portioning and distribution of meals. Nutritionists also ensure compliance with the requirements of the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA).
How to become a Nutritionist
To become a Nutritionist, you must be certified by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
- 1.Complete a bachelor degree in nutrition and dietetics or a related field.
- 2.Get licensed as a Registered Nutritionist-Dietitian (RND). To get a license, you have to pass an examination given by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
- 3.Apply for jobs in hospitals, clinics, schools or food service companies.
