Computer Engineers play a vital role in a company’s information technology department. They have a strong understanding of design analytics, analysis tools and algorithms to create diverse types of hardware and software, such as routers, circuit boards and computer programs. Computer Engineers perform troubleshooting tasks to fix and update computer systems. They work closely with web and software developers, and ensure that programs are user-friendly.

How to become a Computer Engineer
You need a formal qualification and experience to become a Computer Engineer.
- 1.Take the STEM strand (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) during your last two years of secondary school.
- 2.Complete a bachelor degree in computer science, information systems or computer engineering. A degree in computer engineering typically takes around five years of study.
- 3.If possible, secure an internship program while you are studying. This will provide you with substantial experience in the field including guidance from professionals.
