How to become an IT Manager
IT Managers are generally expected to have experience in systems administration, network security, and other relevant sections in IT operations.
- 1.Complete a relevant IT degree.
- 2.Get proven experience in managing IT systems. This could be learned by spending years working in system administration, network engineering, IT security, or other applicable IT core competencies.
- 3.Show great organization and people skills. Experience in managing IT staff and completing projects on-time helps build credibility in managing a complex IT system and infrastructure.
- 4.Take up relevant IT certifications. Some employers prefer potential candidates to have industry recognized certifications which put them in an advantage in the hiring process.
